Firstly, please make sure that the Club you are attempting to link to have your record correctly set up in their ClubV1 system. An example would be to ensure they do not have “Withhold From HowDidiDo” set to Yes on your record as your details would not sync across to HowDidiDo:
Once the Club have confirmed the record is set up correctly they would need to publish their data to HowDidiDo from their HowDidiDo Publish section. When they have published, you can update your Club with the following steps:
Log into your HowDidiDo app or the browser version https://www.howdidido.com/Account/Login.
Click on the User Profile option at the top of the website/app:
Scroll to Club Details and use the Change Home Club tab:
Click on Scan and search for the Club you are wanting to link to:
Then click on your name when it appears to link to your handicap record at the Club. Please find a screen recording attached to this email which should show this process.
Once you change your Home Club, this will then set your previous Home Club automatically to your Away Club - unless your previous Home Club has removed your from their system in which case you will no longer be linked to them. You can remove any Away Clubs from this section:
If you find that after changing your Home Club that it is resetting to your previous Home Club, please check with them to ensure that your Home Club has been correctly updated on your CDH record on the WHS.
(2) I am unable to link to my Club
If you are unable to link to your Club on HowDidiDo then there a number of reasons that could cause this:
The most common reasons are that the Club may have not published their data to HowDidiDo since you joined or re-joined the Club, they may not have you entered correctly in their system or they have your name entered differently to how you have entered on HowDidiDo.
You would need to contact the Club to ensure you are on their handicapping system as a Home or Away member correctly and they have not selected ‘Withhold from HowDidiDo’ on your record:
Please ensure the First Name and Surname you are registering on HowDidiDo with matches what the Club have for you on their record in their ClubV1 system. For example, if you are registering as “Nancy Morris” and the Club have you down as “May Nancy Morris” then you will not show in the results – the names need to match:
Once they do this, they need to publish their data to HowDidiDo which will be a simple 5 second process in their ClubV1 system:
Your name should then be appearing. You can then link your HowDidiDo account to your record at the Club in the Club Details section of your Profile.
If you are trying to register a new account, your name should then show when linking to the Club. Please note, the first name and last name you are entering when registering a new account need to match the spelling of what the Golf Club have for you on your record within their ClubV1 system.
We do not have access to do this. HowDidiDo does not have no access to the ClubV1 data held by your club – the HowDidiDo site will only display what information we receive from the Club when they publish.
One other point to check is that your previous Club has you set correctly as an Away member if you have recently joined a new Club. If they still have you set as a Home member then this would be causing issues.
If needed please forward this email onto the Club so we can assist them with correcting the issue within their system as access is needed to the Club’s ClubV1 system. Even if you think the Club have already published the handicap list.
